Blackfoot Tribe, Cherokee Tribe - Hadley Family

Hi, I am not sure where to begin so I hope what I am about to ask is understandable. My name is Patti Harris. I am doing some family research history. I know my mother was Cherokee and Blackfoot Indian. Her name was Mary Landers at time of death. I was wondering if you may have any information requarding her mother who's name was Dorthy Hadley at time of death. They didn't live on the land that I know of. I need some help in finding out if grandmother Dorthy was full blooded. If there is any way or any information that can be shared with me I would be greatly apperciated. Thanks, Patti

Cherokee Tribe - Downing Family

Joel Mayes Downing was my grandmother's dad, her mom was Betsy Sunday. I don't know if that is supposed to be part of that info I can see. My Grandmother's name was Mabel Louise Downing, 7/8 cherokee, and she had many brothers and sisters, although I don't know any of their names. She married James Henry DeMoss, and that is where I am stuck. Rumor has it, that James Henry DeMoss had indian blood, but he never admitted to it. Much like admitting you're part black in the south in the first part of the 20th Century. Harold Gene DeMoss, my dad was their only child. My name is Deborah Ann DeMoss and can only prove 7/32nds of Indian blood because of James. Can you point me in the right direction? - Debbie

Cherokee Tribe - Wood Family

You do not have George Greer Wood, #26286, Leonard Charles Wood, #26287 or Zollie Eugene Wood, #26288 listed on the Cherokee Dawes Roll. Zollie Wood is my father. I needed his number to get my Cherokee blue card enrollment number. Leonard Charles Wood was my dad's older brother.

I have copies of the the Dawes Roll applications my grandfather, George Greer Wood, made. They are copies from the National Archives in Fort Worth.

You do not have Alcy Jane Wood(s), my great-grandmother, or George Greer Wood(s) listed on the 1880 Cherokee census. I have copies of that census from another source.

Choctaw Tribe - William Rutledge

I have potentially located one of my ancestors on a Dawes card, as a rejected Mississippi Choctaw. Are copies of these cards or any other data available? I am referring to card number MCR1868, William Rutledge. Any info would be greatly appreciated. - Dawn Gallant

Who is the author of your Note on the Creek Indians: government article? I need it for citing reasons. - Ayesa

Sioux tribe - McClure Family

I am looking for my female ancestor who was from the Sioux tribe. My grandmother told me they originated in Maryland and they used to call her Granny McClure or Gramma McClure. I have pictures dated back thru the family to the early 1800's and Granny McClure is in one of the pictures. It's interesting to see how much of the same features we have today. I hope you can help. I have been looking thru Ancestry.com but unable to find anything. From what I hear, when they did the federal census, native americans were not counted. - Lisa
